There may be a few hurdles too in giving birth but life full of adversities and obstacles makes her the divine power, she is Shakti. The beauty of God’s wonderful creation is Nari Shakti.

🤱”MOTHER IS THE CREATOR OF CHILD’S FUTURE” Motherhood played a very significant role in ancient India as well. Importance is laid starting from selection of women for procreation and importance of semen in creating a high-quality offspring, intrapartum care to neonatal care. Importance of nourishment of pregnant woman is also very well identified in the Atharvaveda.


Research shows that if there is grief, sorrow, or depression, those negative emotions affect the growth of the baby. The baby could be born with lower birth weight or the baby could be less happy. The newborn child may experience more colic, crying, sleeplessness. Thus, the mother should be gleeful during pregnancy. For this family must try to keep her happy, especially the husband. Let her hear good news, make her to listen soothing music, offer her sweet foods, let her attend monthly celebrations to always keep her mood uplifted.


It is the best way for expecting mothers to reduce stress. When mother’s nervous system is balanced spontaneously develops healthy baby. Vice versa instability in mother’s nervous system may result is overly active state of baby in womb which causes high blood pressure and fluid retention in mothers.

Initial stages

Every woman is different and So are their experiences of pregnancy. Not every woman has the same symptoms or even the same symptoms from one pregnancy to the next. Also, because the early symptoms of pregnancy often mimic the symptoms you might experience right before and during menstruation, you may not realize you are pregnant. The fact that you notice some known symptoms does not necessarily mean you are pregnant. The only way to tell for sure is with a pregnancy test. After conception, the fertilized egg attaches itself to wall of the uterus. This can cause one of the earliest signs of pregnancy like spotting and sometimes, cramping.

Significance of Ritukala is identified and said as essential for conception. Agnideva is described as responsible for giving potent male child and prayers advised to offer along with Somarasa. (Ritu Kala is the most important phase of menstrual cycle since it is the fertile phase of monthly cycle. This phase comprising of 12 days after menstruation is suitable time for conception)

The cramps resemble menstrual cramps, where some women usually mistake them as the bleeding for the start of their period. The bleeding and cramps, however, are slight. This discharge, which can continue throughout pregnancy, is typically harmless and does not require treatment. But if there is a bad smell related to the discharge or a burning and itching sensation, tell your doctor so they can check on whether you have a yeast or bacterial infection.

Besides bleeding, a woman may notice a white, milky discharge from their vagina. The increased growth of cells lining of the vagina causes the discharge.

Breast changes are another very early sign of pregnancy. A woman’s hormone levels rapidly change after conception. Because of the changes, their breasts may become swollen, sore, or tingly a week or two later. Or they may feel heavier or fuller or feel tender to the touch. The area around the nipples, called the areola, may also darken.

Feeling very tired is normal in pregnancy. A woman can start feeling unusually fatigued as soon as one week after conceiving.

Hormonal Play

Why? It is often related to a high level of a hormone called progesterone, although other things such as lower levels of blood sugar, lower blood pressure, and a boost in blood production can all contribute.

Pregnancy brings changes in your hormonal balance. And that can cause other symptoms that include:

  • FREQUENT URINATION For many women, this starts around the sixth or eighth week after conception. Although this could be caused by a urinary track infection, diabetes if you are pregnant, it’s most likely due to hormonal levels.
  • CONSTIPATION During pregnancy, higher levels of the hormone progesterone can make you constipated. Progesterone causes food to pass more slowly through your intestine. To ease the problem, drink plenty of water, exercise, and eat plenty of high-fiber foods. It is important to have daily morning bowel motions during pregnancy. Eat citrus fruits like oranges or mandarins, Pomegranate and Cooked leafy green.
  • MOOD SWINGS These are common, especially during the first tri semester. These are also related to changes in hormones.
  • ACHES Many pregnant women report frequent mild headaches, and others experience back aches.
  • DIZZINESS AND FATIGUE These may be related to dilating blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and lower blood sugar.

A pregnant woman could have all these symptoms, or maybe have only one or two. If any of these symptoms become bothersome, talk to your doctor about them so you can plan to offset them.

It is difficult to know exactly when conception occurred, so doctors calculate your due date from the beginning of your last menstrual cycle.

According to Vedas, invoking of Vishnu, Prajapati, Saraswathi and Asvini deities help in the formation and maintenance of Garbha(embryo).

Make sure you have scheduled a preconception visit with your Gynecologist to determine risks of genetic diseases and environmental hazards as well as learn about necessary lifestyle changes to ensure a healthy pregnancy and baby. Most important, make sure you have started taking 0.4 milligrams of folic acid a day. Folic acid taken a few months before conception has been shown to dramatically reduce such neural tube defects.

Felicitations! If your egg and your partner’s sperms have joined successfully, your embryo is there, although it is very small — about the size of the head of a pin. It does not look like a fetus or baby; it is just a group of about 100 cells multiplying and growing rapidly. The outer layer of cells will become the placenta, and the inner layer will become the embryo.

FUTURE MOM: You will not notice any changes in your body at this point. Remember, you have not even missed your period yet. But hormones are signaling your body to stop the menstruation process and support your pregnancy. Take a home pregnancy test. They are about as reliable as a urine test or blood test done in the doctor’s office and you get results immediately. To ensure accuracy, read the directions carefully and make sure all the supplies you use are clean.

Try to eat healthfully, which means choosing a variety of foods from recommended food groups and drinking at least six to eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. You only need an extra 300 calories per day while you are pregnant.


 Having sex during pregnancy does not have any issues but be careful that woman should be on their back only and do not strain abdomen.

This month if dryness is high in the vagina you may practice Yoni Pichu( It is derived from vedic science where sterile cottonball is soaked in medicated oil or ghee and then it is placed inside the vagina for a specific period of time).This method is a gift of Ayurveda and was practiced during vedic era.Hence,make sure to consult a veteran practitioner before experimenting.

Be careful of the following:

Keep away from ingredients like salicylic acid, commonly found in anti-dandruff shampoos. Do not comb your hair when it is wet and avoid hairstyles like tight braids, twisted ponytails, etc., where the hair is tightly pulled. Tight hairstyles cause headaches which are more severe during pregnancy. To be on the safer side, always consult your doctor before buying any hair care products.

Wireless devices emit signals (EMF) that communicate with our mitochondria and cause mitochondrial dysfunction, which is a birth for many diseases. It also generates free radicals, dehydrates our body, and thrashes our adrenal stress index. Which automatically puts impact on development of baby’s brain.


According to Vedas pregnancy and delivery can be the most rejuvenating experience of a women’s life.  During pregnancy everything that the mother touches, smells, tastes, listens to, sees has the same influence on fetus. Primordial sounds vibrate to the foetus to enliven desired aspects of consciousness. The Vedic sounds also increase Sattva in the pregnant lady. Some good chants to listen to are the Bhagavad Gita and Hanuman mantras

According to ATHARVAVEDA milk was advised to have as a diet for the nourishment of fetus. Pregnant woman is advised to beware of rakshsa and krmi living in dwelling place, since they may attack pregnant woman and cause abortion, trouble to fetus, stillbirths, neonatal deaths. Remedy to kill these krmi is said as Sunrays. Drugs Baja or Pinga(yellow mustard) are identified as treatment for the Krmi.

As described in UPANISAD, formation of twins and multiple embryos are said as the result of action of vayu.Due to the action of vayu number of embryos in the womb will be decided. When the sukra breaks into two parts, formation of male twins occurs. Similarly, when sukra and sonita bursts into two then mixed progeny is the result.

DETERMINATION OF SEX AS IN UPANISHADS It is said that sukra belongs to men and sonita to women, by the dominance of father’s semen the born child becomes male, a daughter is born when the mother’s seed dominates and if both are equal, a eunuch is born. Since females have more passion on account of their deriving more pleasure ,a greater no. of females are born. The action corresponds to the mental state of the actor.

Mainly for those who are first time pregnant or have been unsuccessful with conceiving or miscarriages. Ayurveda recommends this to avoid bad energy from external people, known as Dristi Dosha(Buri nazar or evil eye)
