The government has cautioned WhatsApp and asked it to withdraw its new privacy policy.
WhatsApp has been in the news for the past few months due to its new privacy policy which will allow WhatsApp to share data with its parent company Facebook.
This move had earlier triggered a backlash all over the world where many had started to switch to alternative apps like Signal and Telegram.
The government has said that it has various provisions under the Indian law to curb WhatsApp’s reach in India if it fails to respect users’ data privacy.
The government has given Facebook time till May 25 to respond.
During this age of cyber risk, data privacy is of utmost importance and being a cyber security analyst, i cannot emphasise it any more!! Being aware of things around would help you to protect your own life from data stealers!! Posting about this is a good way to aware peopl!! Good Job! 😁
